MASYARAKAT: KERAGAMAN, INTEGRASI, DAN KONFLIK DALAM PERSPEKTIF PENDIDIKAN ISLAM

Abstract


Abstract: Indonesian society is born and formed from many diverse things. This diversity includes language, skin color, ethnicity, customs, religion, and so on. In reality, the potential of this diversity can trigger 2 (two) things, namely integration and conflict. Responding to this potential, the role of Islamic education is very important. This study aims to examine 2 (two) things, namely first, the nature of society and Islamic education. Second, the meaning of diversity, integration, and conflict in society. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The data collection used documentation techniques. While data analysis is done with content analysis techniques. This research found 2 (two) things, namely first, society and Islamic education have a strong relationship. Society needs the intervention of Islamic education to maintain the culture inherent in a social community. Likewise, Islamic education also needs the existence of society. Because the success of the education process is also determined by community support. Second, diversity is a characteristic inherent in the identity of Indonesian society. At one time, diversity can encourage the growth of a sense of brotherhood. But at other times, it can trigger conflict. For this reason, Islamic education needs to be present as a vehicle for internalizing religious teachings to create social integration.
