KEBIJAKAN SEKOLAH DALAM PENERAPAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PADA MTS BUNAYYA ISLAMIC SCHOOL KABUPATEN REJANG LEBONG

Abstract


Abstract: This research was conducted to describe: 1) the madrasah's policies in implementing character education to improve the quality of the madrasah; 2) inhibiting factors; and 3) steps to overcome inhibiting factors in implementing character education. The approach used in this research was a qualitative descriptive approach using field research methods. The study yielded the following results: 1) the policies in implementing character education to improve the quality of the madrasah began with well-planned planning activities, implementation involved various components within and outside the school, and the evaluation process was carried out by the steps of policy implementation and had a positive impact on changes in the student's character; 2) inhibiting factors in the implementation of character education included inadequate supervision by teachers of extracurricular activities. This indicates the need for improved supervision and monitoring of extracurricular activities related to character education. Furthermore, the role of guidance and counseling teachers in implementing character education needs to be enhanced. It is necessary to keep more accurate records of violations that occur. There is also inconsistency between the implementation of character values in the madrasah and in the home environment; and 3) The madrasah's policies to overcome barriers in the implementation of character education include: involving the roles of parents/guardians, the community, and committees in various character education implementation programs; the participation of parents/guardians and the community in decision-making; optimizing the roles and functions of teachers; providing good understanding to parents and encouraging them to seek information and knowledge about character education.
