MEMBUMIKAN KOSMOPOLITANISME DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM UNTUK MEMBANGUN MASYARAKAT MADURA YANG INKLUSIF

Abstract


Madura is a region characterized by rich diversity in culture, traditions, language, and religion. This condition underscores the importance of strengthening cosmopolitan values that uphold equality, openness, and universality as fundamental principles of social life. This article aims to examine the urgency and relevance of cosmopolitanism in Islamic education as an effort to foster an inclusive Madurese society in the digital era. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method and is analyzed descriptively. Data were collected from various sources of literature related to cosmopolitanism, Islamic education, and the social dynamics of Madurese society.The findings indicate that Islamic education in Madura functions as an effective space for social learning in instilling cosmopolitan values. Various educational practices in pesantren and madrasah are not solely oriented toward strengthening religious understanding but also toward cultivating awareness of diversity through scholarly dialogue, the promotion of moderate Islamic perspectives, and students’ social participation. This condition encourages the emergence of more adaptive, inclusive, and humanistic social attitudes in responding to the plural realities of Madurese society.
