Abstract: This study critically examines the practice of clinical supervision in improving the quality of Qur’an learning at SMP IT Al-Hidayah Sumenep. Based on the characteristics of integrated Islamic school environments in urban areas, which are marked by high demands on parental accountability and the challenges posed by the digital generation, the main argument of this article is that clinical supervision has strategic potential to bridge the gap between conventional methods and contemporary pedagogical needs. However, this claim remains tentative and needs to be tested in broader contexts, as this study is limited to a single site. The objectives of this study are to describe the implementation of clinical supervision, analyse improvements in learning quality, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with the Headmaster, three Qur’an teachers, two mentors (musyrif), and six students as participants, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation, and analysed using an interactive model. The findings show that clinical supervision is implemented through three stages: planning, observation, and evaluation, while maintaining collegial, dialogical, and humanistic principles. The results indicate that clinical supervision improves teacher motivation, increases students' enthusiasm for learning, and strengthens the school's managerial system for Qur’an learning. The main supporting factor is the principal’s commitment and adequate facilities, while the main obstacle is teachers’ resistance to innovation. The contribution of this study to the field of Islamic educational leadership is the contextualization of clinical supervision in urban integrated Islamic schools, which differ significantly from pesantren settings. Nevertheless, the findings are situational and cannot be generalised without replication in similar contexts. The key conclusion of this study emphasises that flexibility in operational strategies and adaptation to local dynamics are essential conditions for the effectiveness of clinical supervision amid time pressure and high accountability demands, while also indicating the need for multi-case studies to strengthen external validity.
