Digital Archiving

Maharot: Journal of Islamic Education takes the following measures to preserve its content and keep it permanently accessible:

  • LOCKSS. The journal enables the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system in Open Journal Systems. The LOCKSS Publisher Manifest permits participating libraries to collect and preserve the journal's content for purposes of preservation and restoration.
  • Persistent identifiers. Every article is assigned a DOI registered with Crossref, so citations continue to resolve even if the website address changes.
  • Metadata harvesting. Article metadata are openly available through the journal's OAI-PMH interface and are harvested by indexing services, including Garuda.
