Plagiarism Screening Policy
All manuscripts submitted to Maharot: Journal of Islamic Education are checked for similarity using Turnitin during the initial screening, before they are sent for peer review.
- The maximum similarity index accepted is 25%.
- Manuscripts with a similarity index above 25% are returned to the authors for revision or declined.
- Regardless of the overall similarity index, manuscripts containing text, data, or ideas copied without proper attribution, self-plagiarism, or duplicate publication are declined.
- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal investigates the case following COPE guidelines and may publish a correction or retract the article (see Publication Ethics).
